From the vaults, here’s the first time Florence and Connell were together on a TV screen. That’s Robert (me) punching Iain right at the beginning there. BAM! TOUGH GUY!
It’s a review of a game called Godhand, from the show videoGaiden.

It was this review that got me watching videoGaiden, regularly. I loved Clover, and I was considering getting God Hand, but GamesTM and Official PlayStation 2 Magazine both gave it fairly shitty reviews. After hearing it was directed by Shinji Mikami, and Grasshopper Manufacture were involved, I reconsidered buying it, and searched for a review. Rab’s big claim of God Hand being “one of the best games of all time” and the Resident Evil 4 comparison seemed impressive enough for me to give it a shot. I ordered it that night.
I fell in love with God Hand, maybe 3 minutes in. It’s one of my very favourites, now. That made me consider that these Gaiden boys probably knew their stuff. Became a regular viewer of Series 3 at that point, and downloaded all of vG and CV that month. Thanks, Robert.
Should that not read ‘Connell and Florence’??? Anyway, this made me jump out my seat when I first saw it on TV (the only other time was when Frank Sidebottom appeared for a wee song). At first I thought he was guest reviewing. Or was a new addition to TEAM’S BBC output. But no. He was just there to be punched and collect an easy wage. Nice.

johnnyorgan – I go away for a week and we’ve been rebranded. And there’s nothing easy about trying to sell Robert’s punches by the way.
